About the brand
Rick Owens was born in Porterville, California in 1961 and worked for years as a patternmaker in Los Angeles garment factories before starting his label there in 1994. He built it slowly on bias-cut leathers and washed jerseys in a palette he calls dust and milk, showed in New York in 2002, and moved to Paris the year after, where the label has been based since. His work runs glamour and brutalism together, and it extends past clothing into furniture and publishing, much of it made with his wife and partner Michèle Lamy.

Material
100% cotton, tissue-weight crinkled knit
Care guide
Wear it over a tank or a thin base layer; the knit is sheer and the open distressing shows whatever is underneath. Hand wash cold and dry flat, or dry clean. The crinkle is set into the cloth; do not iron it out, and do not wring the knit. At this weight the cotton catches on rings and rough skin, so put it on with care and store it folded, not hung, so the shoulders do not distort.
