About the brand
SHELLAC is the Tokyo label of Hideyuki Maruya, opened in August 2000 after he left ABAHOUSE INTERNATIONAL, where he had been chief designer of 5351 POUR LES HOMMES. The label works mostly in leather and in original fabrics developed for it. Its first shop opened in Daikanyama in 2002, followed by an Aoyama store furnished with antiques and a dark interior.

Care guide
Do not wash, bleach, iron or dry clean. Wipe the leather with a barely damp cloth and let it dry away from heat. Before conditioning, test on a small hidden area first and let it dry, or take it to a professional leather cleaner. Unsnap the fur collar before storing, brush it gently with the nap and keep it dry. Hang on a broad hanger, out of direct light.
