About the brand
Isamu Katayama grew up in Hiroshima around his father's motorcycles, which is where the leather started, moved to Tokyo in his early twenties to work for a leather bag maker, and founded BACKLASH in 1999. What sets the label apart is the order of operations: the leather is dyed after the garment is sewn, not before. Jackets and boots go into the dye as finished objects, often by Katayama's own hand, so they shrink and pucker along the seams and the colour marbles into the hide differently on every piece.

Care guide
Wipe with a barely damp cloth and condition sparingly. Leave the raw flesh side alone, it darkens with handling. Store dry and out of direct light.
