About the brand
Undercover is the label of Jun Takahashi, founded in Tokyo in 1990 while he was still at Bunka Fashion College and fronting a Sex Pistols cover band called the Tokyo Sex Pistols. In 1993 he opened the NOWHERE store in Harajuku with Nigo, who would go on to found A Bathing Ape from the other half of the shop. Its work runs from punk graphics to couture-level construction, which carried it to the Paris runway in 2002 with Rei Kawakubo's backing. Undercoverism is the mark the house used on its menswear line.
